Jobs & Volunteering

Seasonal Coastal Warden

A seasonal Coastal Warden is required at the Lulworth Estate for the summer season from July 17th until September 3rd .

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at this World Heritage site in a varied and interesting role. You will be working at Durdle Door and other local beaches as well as elsewhere on the estate. Your work will include amongst other tasks: ensuring beaches are clean and beautifully presented; removing litter; welcoming visitors; providing information; managing and undertaking visitor surveys; leading guided walks; providing a presence in the car park and on the beaches; maintaining a good relationship with local partners and visitors.

A driving licence is essential as you will be required to move around the estate. A degree of physical fitness is required, as you will be up and down a steep track and steps to the beach, carrying litter sacks and walking on the shingle beach, often in the heat. A self-confident, assured manner will be necessary for dealing with people both politely and on occasion, assertively. You will be working alone for much of the time. An understanding of local walks, countryside and the Jurassic Coast would be helpful.

The job is full time, five days per week, working every Saturday and Sunday until the start of September.
