Approximately 500,000 people visit Lulworth Cove each year. 30% of visitors come in July and August, with 10% arriving between November and February.

The large number of visitors brings significant benefits to a rural area that has traditionally relied on fishing and farming to sustain the economy. These industries still continue, but tourism provides substantial full time and seasonal employment, contributes to the local economy and plays a large part in social stability.

There are some management problems associated with tourism, particularly with erosion of the landscape in the area surrounding Lulworth Cove. If a surfaced path is provided, please stay on it to keep erosion problems to a minimum.
