Stair Hole
The sea has exploited weak points in the massive Portland Stone, creating caves, arches, stacks and blowholes. Embryonic coves are now forming in the lee of this natural defence. If you look carefully, you will see arches similar to Durdle Door being formed, but whether these will survive remains to be seen. Beware, Stair Hole has a rocky shore and loose crumbling cliffs. How to get there: Parking is at the main pay and display Lulworth Cove Car Park. Walk around the rear of the Heritage Centre and take the path on the left behind the building. There is a view point at Stair Hole but there are no steps to this beach due to the unstable cliffs. Lulworth Cove | The Beach | The Fossil Forest | The Lulworth Crumple | Facilities
